1poundground beef(80/20 recommended for juiciness)
½teaspoononion powder
½teaspoonsalt
¼teaspoonpepper
½teaspoonliquid smoke (optional for grill flavor)
4hamburger buns
sliced cheese of choice(optional)
Instructions
Preheat the Air Fryer. Set your air fryer to 375°F.
Make the Patties. In a bowl, gently mix ground beef, onion powder, salt, pepper, and liquid smoke. Don’t overmix. Divide into 4 portions and form into round patties. Lightly press a shallow indent in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent shrinkage.
Air Fry. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil. Place the patties in a single layer (don’t overcrowd). Air fry for 5 minutes. Flip and cook for another 3–5 minutes or until the internal temp reaches 160°F.
Add Cheese (Optional). If using cheese, place a slice on top of each patty during the last 30 seconds of cooking to let it melt.
Assemble and Serve. Serve hot on toasted buns with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Use 80/20 beef for the best balance of flavor and moisture.
Don't overwork the meat—light handling keeps the burgers tender.
Indent the patties in the center with your thumb so they cook evenly.
Cheese it right: Add cheese after the final flip, just for 30 seconds.
Check doneness with a meat thermometer—160°F is the safe internal temp for ground beef.
